Exam Patterns of OSSC SI, Station Officer,  Assistant Jailor 

       Part-I – Preliminary examination

There will be preliminary examination of 100 marks. It will consist of questions related to General Science

1. Current events of National & International importance
2. History of India & Odisha
3. Fundamentals of English grammar
4. Arithmetic of HSC standard, problem-solving
5.  reasoning.

Ø  There will be objective type of questions to be answered in the OMR sheet.

Ø  The duration of the examination will be 1 & half hour.

Ø  There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Part-II – Main written examination

There will be a main written examination of a total of 500 marks. It will be divided into 2 papers. The first paper will carry 300 marks and the second paper for the post of station officer will carry 200 marks

Paper-I

There will be main written examination I of 300 marks.

 It will consist of subjects

(i)                General English (50 marks)  

(ii)              Odia language (50 marks)

(iii)            General studies (200 marks)

Ø  There will be objective and multiple choice type of question.

Ø  The duration of the examination will be 1 & half hour.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer

 Physical efficiency test  of OSSC Combined SI, fire officer, Assistant Jailor 

(Male)

There will be a physical efficiency test i.e. Running, Cycling, Long jump, Cross country & Running over low hurdles. Details of events as following below

Ø  Running –  1.6 km in 8 minutes

Ø  Long jump – 3.66 meters in length (3 attempts)

Ø  Cross country – 5 km within 40 minutes

Ø  Running over low hurdles – 77 cm height, 100 meter with 10 flights, in 25 second

Ø  Cycling – 1.6 km in 5 minutes

(Female)

Ø  Running –  1.6 km in 10 minutes

Ø  Long jump – 2.77 meters in length (3 attempts)

Ø  Cross country – 4 km within 40 minutes

Ø  Running over low hurdles – 62 cm height, 80 meter with 10 flights, in 30 second

Ø  Cycling – 1.6 km in 7 minutes
